Teach My people to know that they do not know. Tell them that things are not always what they seem. Teach My people about themselves. Teach them that by knowing themselves that they can have peace. When the big picture comes into focus, the little picture pales in comparison. People must learn to see with larger vision. The limited view of self causes all sorts of grief. People must know that to believe in God is to believe in all of God, not just in small things. People’s requests are limited, but God’s vision is all encompassing. Don’t put limits on God – don’t tie God’s hands. Man has not learned the ways of God. God gives greater gifts, but people put limits by inflicting their limited vision upon their requests. You have failed to realize that you are given the circumstances for your chosen experiences. In order to obtain maximum benefit, the experience must be maximal with having all the trappings to make the experience profound and powerful. Granted, not all of life’s experiences are chosen to be maximal, but we are using those profound experiences as our example.
If you want it all, ask for all. Examine your motives. Let love be the guiding thought for everything. Don’t be selfish for you are not alone. Your actions affect others. Have a grand vision, be positive, be faithful and always be grateful. A grateful heart is filled with love. Selfishness is miserable. Until you realize this, you will never experience all that you can be. Love all of life. Learn to see life for the experience and its beauty will be revealed. Try always to expand your vision, include more and more within the range of your sight. Know that God does not care about one aspect alone; God looks at your entire experience and helps you to realize that you are far more than a worker trying to make a living. God sees you as the means to help others. Notice that for the tiny instant that you give to another, you have joy. Increase your joy and soon you will be filled having filled. If you want joy, you can only get it in the gratitude of others. Getting a new car is great, but helping someone else get a car is far more rewarding. Think of how great it feels to be benevolent. Picture yourself as God giving a car to someone else. Oh, the feeling of greatness is almost impossible to contain. The gratitude of others – the heartfelt appreciation makes you feel like a million, even if you don’t have a million. I tell you this – there is no greater joy in life than giving joy to another. Filling the needs of others is our primordial purpose. Never will giving to yourself give you such a feeling. Try it out with small things and feel the love.
Certainly the experience is less rewarding if it does not feel like giving of self. The millionaire who gives a dollar to the poor is less likely to feel fully the experience. The person who only has five dollars, but gives a dollar to someone else is truly giving from great love. I do not ask that you give away all that you have so that you are a burden to others. I ask for you to decide for yourself and give according to your heart. Give according to the love that you wish to receive. Giving to those who are ungrateful is like throwing it away. Let your gifts be useful – money is the least effective gift to someone who needs food. Give food. Take someone shopping instead of giving money. Now you have given time and money. How much more beneficial will the gift be? Demonstrate love. Teach wisdom. Imagine giving someone five dollars. What can you buy or how many days can a person eat on five dollars if they shop wisely. Show them wisdom. Give gifts of wisdom also. Don’t let them run to a fast food joint and blow it on one meal.
The old saying that if you “give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” is so very true. Teach skills just as you were taught. Give someone an education. What better gift is there? Get someone a job, a far better gift than food money. Help people up as you know that you are God in the flesh. God works through people. Be His helper. Instead of always looking in the mirror, have larger vision and seek to help the world. You know not what you can do if you will but try. Do one good deed a day. Soon, you’ll forget about your petty problems and seek to be the bringer of God’s glory to all.
